Transparent Toaster: You Have to See it to Believe it!

By Kalib Crone

A see through toaster? How could you ever burn your toast again!

The first design was supposed to look a little something like this:
A simple design in which Glass that is safe in very high temperatures is heated from the base until the bread is slowly toasted to perfection in front of the users eyes. But sadly, the developers finally realized that their design was flawed in that the base could not produce enough heat to heat up the entire glass plate. Not only that, but the glass would cause safety problems if it could actually get hot enough to be functional because of how simple and open the design is and because of the fact that glass looks the same whether it is hot or cold which could result in serious accidental burns.

The new design almost looks like just a rip off of a regular toaster at first glance. It looks as if metal bars are being pressed against the bread just like conventional toasters, but just take a look at if from a different perspective.
As you can see, the bread slips right into the glass walls which then slide back into the toaster. The way the developers dealt with the problem of the base not being able to heat the entire plate of glass was by instead using metal strips to heat the glass on each side.

The glass evens out the heat given by each metal heat conductor creating a smooth perfectly toasted piece of bread without the burns or variation in color and quality on the bread.
